on thursday with the other actors involved here. as far as why i believe it was handled wrong by the fbi, first of all to have something like this a cyber harassment case rise to the level of an fbi investigation. when it reached the cia director, have the fbi investigate the director of of the cia and the president or the attorney general not be notified of it is a dereliction of duty. the president if he was not told should have been told and that to me was somebody really dropping the ball. the other thing makes the whole thing implausible is you have a four, five, six-month investigation whatever it was. nothing comes out, nothing is disclosed. suddenly on election night the fbi announces the investigation is over and they tell general clapper. the next day the white house finds out about it, the next day general petraeus submits his resignation. friday the president accepts the resignation. we find yesterday the fbi raiding the home of paula broadwell. then we find out general allen has been involved in emails with joe kelley, so you have like four or five different events happening

that is dominating washington. the latest on the fbi investigation that led to the sudden resignation of cia director david petraeus on friday. lawmakers are now calling for an inquiry as new details emerge about the entire time line. officials say the investigation began after jill kelley, a 37-year-old volunteer at mcdill air force base in tampa, complained of receiving harassing e-mails. kelley and her husband met petraeus and his wife when he headed the tampa bay central command from 2008 to 2010. now the fbi traced those e-mails to paula broadwell, co-author of the tpetraeus biography that le them to other 0 e-mail that is did indicate a romantic relationship between broadwell and petraeus. this morning "the new york times" report says they were notified of petraeus' affair in the late summer. in the senior law enforcement official said they interviewed petraeus in late october and concluded there was no criminal violation. and on november 6, election day, the fbi informed the director of national intelligence, jim clapper. clapper then told the white house on wednesday. the national security te

, and the fbi investigation that turned up evidence of this affair turned up no evidence of breaching classified information, then why did the affair itself get reported to the director of national intelligence and then the security staff at the white house and ultimately the president? this was private misbehavior that was a breach of personnel rules, but not the law. is the fbi the armed wing of the ci acres human resources department? why did the fbi report the affair to anyone. there was no classified information breached here. no reported breach of david petraeus's systems. any e-mail was not his cia e-mail. it was not like the former director who got busted taking home classified information on his home laptop. so this was not a national security matter. and it was not a criminal matter. so why was this brought up to the director of national intelligence by the fbi. we do not know. what we do know is once james clapper, head of the national intelligence, found out about the affair on election day, he urged david petraeus to resign. the following day, wednesday, mr. clapper reportedly notif

on panetta ordered the investigation of general john allen. fbi found inappropriate communication between allen and jill kelly. pentagon would not disclose what they say. now kelly is the woman who received the threatening e-mails from general david petraeus's mistress. the mistress also being investigated. fbi wants to determine whether paula broadwell is in possession of any sensitive information. investigators searched her home in florida this evening and theory moving documents and video. confiscated several bi bins of evidence. petraeus started an affair with broadwell when head of the cia. he resigned on friday. broadwell was im bedd with him in afghanistan while working on his biography. he claims any confidential information she obtained was no the from him and must have come from another commander. broadwell has agreed to cooperate fully with the fbi. now the fbi found out about the affair from jill kelly. here she is leaving her home in north carolina today. she contacted the fbi because pull a broadwell warned her to stay away from general petraeus threatening e-mails.
